About 350 adult residents of Murambi sector had attended the school for reading and writing but only 220 graduated as literates after passing final examinations including a 70 years old lady.

The learning courses were provided by ADRA which also gave rewards to the most performing cells in the 3 cells out of the 5 cells in sector. These rewards included radios, hoes and jerry cans.

In the function to celebrate the achievements of Murambi sector in the short period of time, the mayor of Karongi district appreciated the role played by the sector’s administration. This sector miraculously got from the last performing sector in the district in 2011/2012 to the 3rd position in 2012/2013.

Apart from people who concluded their educational course, the Urugerero program of Murambi sector was also concluded with more than 1000 youths enthusiastically participating in it and a new program was officially started.

The executive secretary of Murambi sector Thomas Niyihaba told his residents “even though we have achieved a lot in a short period of time, a lot needs to be done; we need to work even harder.”

Among other projects that were achieved by Karongi district and celebrated in Murambi sector in the same function include the 1st Position award in the 2012/2013 in performing contracts, the Kagame Cup girls in Rubengera sector won worth Rwf150 000.
