Bugarama residents want Kagame to stay on

Scores of residents from the Rugarama sector in Gatsibo district have called for the lifting of term limits to ensure the continued leadership of President Paul Kagame beyond 2017.

Residents revealed this during the tour by Rwandan law makers consulting citizens on the on possible constitutional changes to allow Paul Kagame a third term in power.

This comes after over 3.7 million people signed a petition for a change to Article 101 of the constitution.

Pascasie Mpariyimana, 96 requested that article 101 be amended so that Kagame can stay in power for more years, saying Rwanda needs more and more development programs.

“For 96 years I have lived, I never saw a leader like Paul Kagame. He eradicated nyakatsi in addition to initiating girinka.” said Mpariyimana.
