The games will be in different sports discipline such as football, netball, volleyball, golf, tug of war and athletics.

The games in Kigali will be preceded by a Pre-Tournament Conference on December 04th, 2015 at the Parliament of Rwanda. The idea is mooted to ensure members get an opportunity to interact, bond and network thus creating a conducive environment for the games to be held.
In a bid to prepare for the EAC Inter-Parliamentary games, the Rwanda Parliament’s football team will play a friendly match with the Executive’s Team (composed of Ministers, State Ministers and Permanent Secretaries). This match is scheduled on Friday 13th November, 2015 at Amahoro Stadium starting from 4pm.
The games are expected to enhance interaction with the citizenry of the partner states and as a mode of sensitization and popularization of the Integration process and also considered a key aspect of building relations between the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) and the National Assemblies in the EAC region†according a statement from the EAC secretariat
Following a decision by the EAC Speakers’ Forum in 2009, the games were institutionalized as an annual activity of the EALA and the National Assemblies and have previously been held in major cities of all the five member states.
