Dr. Gashumba sworn in as new gender minister
President Paul Kagame has this Tuesday sworn-in the newly appointed minister for gender and family promotion (migeprof), Dr. Diane Gashumba and three other top security officials who were appointed in the recent major reshuffles in the army.
The army officials who took oath include: Brig Gen Joseph Nzabamwita who was appointed as the secretary general at the national intelligence and security services (NISS), General Jacques Musemakweli as the new Army Chief of Staff, and Brig. General Charles Karamba, the new air force commander.
In his address, President Kagame congratulated the newly appointed officials and reminded them that their new task calls for extra effort, if they are to live up to the expectations of the Rwandan people.
â€œWe all know that most of those taking the oath are concerned with security. This is because security is a pillar of developmentâ€ Kagame said â€œit is our hope that the new leaders will continue working with others to take our country forwardâ€
Kagame said that the changes in these posts are part of the usual reinforcement of service delivery.
