Eight cows and fifty pigs have been donated to 1994 Tutsi genocide survivors; an aid the World Vision offered it the closure of the good governance month in Rubengera Sector-Karongi District 26th February 2013

The mayor of Karongi district, Bernard Kayumba acknowledged World Vision for being exemplary development partners who discuss every move with the authorities before delivering to the beneficiaries.

During the event, the executive secretary of Rubengera sector, Emmanuel Mutuyimana highlighted the activities that took place during the month of good governance in this area.

One of the things tackled during this month is sensitizing couples to live in harmony between them and with their children since family conflicts are common in Karongi district, claiming some lives as well, he explains

The mayor of Karongi district, Bernard Kayumba told residents that no home has ever developed when parents are always fighting.

Fatuma Mukangango, who was educated on living in harmony by ‘Tubibe Amahoro’ association asserts: “The mayor is right; you cannot develop when you are fighting. Good governance goes with peaceful households because when there is harmony in a home, couples plan together and develop.”

Hassan Ngayaberura, a resident from Rubengera sector confirms that even when you have little in your home, it’s better to eat that in harmony than having a lot in conflicts.

The mayor advised residents to eradicate family conflicts saying that good governance should start in their homes.
