Police sensitised on arresting cyber crimes
Twenty police officers from Commonwealth and the East African community just accomplished a three-day workshop on sensitization against cybercrimes.
The officers were trained on cybercrimes and the electronic management of such crimes, analyzing digital evidence, fraud and credit cards among others.
Stanley Nsabimana, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) said the acquired skills will help the police in the region to arrest cybercrimes.
DIGP Nsabimana hailed Interpol for their continued efforts in training security guards on technical advances in conducting investigations.
Instructor of police, George Kisaka urged participants to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to eradicate crimes.
He asked the leaders to consider the recommendations adopted by the workshop in the provision of an entity of contact in each country about the cybercrimes in order to smooth run the process of investigation.
Cheboi Jackson, a participant from Kenya said they will apply what they learned in their respective jurisdictions.
