    Ruhango: District Authority anticipates 30% 2017

    The administration of Ruhango district say that by 2017, the population that will be under poverty line will have decreased by 30% from 56% who are under the poverty line today.

    Many of ruhango district residents are very poor

    Ruhango district made resolutions to reduce this number after the Rwanda Institute of Statistics presented a report on how the economy country in the last 5 years and Ruhango district came as one of the 10 districts with many people under the poverty line.

    For this to be fulfilled, local people should work hard especially in agriculture sector and with the support of the district administration they will achieve it as Epimaque Twagirumukiza the vice mayor for finance and economic development in Ruhango district said.

    Twagirumukiza said that as the district budget increases, people will get off the poverty line and develop. The budget for the economic year 2012-2013 increased with 2Million francs and 76% of this whole budget will be allocated to agriculture sector as the advisory council of Ruhango district confirmed so as to decrease the number of people under the poverty line.
