The period for commemorating and burying genocide victims should act as a time to remember the bad government that was characterized by genocidal ideologies that led to a loss of many thousands of people and to remember people who played a part to stop it as Mathias Harebamungu the state secretary in the Ministry of Education for primary and secondary schools said.
He went on to say that they should also use this time to fight genocide ideologies and shame those who deny this genocide be it Rwandans of foreigners and asked those who were present to show the world that they are not the same people who committed these atrocities.
He also got a chance to tell genocide survivors that they should not spend the rest of their lives in sorrow and that they should not satisfy those who wanted to finish them on the face of the earth by always being bitter.
He reminded them that the government of Rwanda cares much about them and that Rwanda will once again be a country of honey and milk where Rwandans give each other cows.
