    Nyanza: Social affairs take bigger portion of the budget

    Rwanda Bugesera budgetDuring the meeting on June 2nd 2012, Nyanza district advisory committee gave the biggest share of 2012-2013 budgets to residents’ social affairs.

     

    Residents’ social affairs take Rwf951million while 2012-2013 financial budget confirmed by District Advisory committee is over Rwf9 Billion.

     

    In order to improve residents’ social welfare, financial budget for social affairs that was over Rwf7billion in the last 2011-2012 financial year, was increased by Rwf2 billion in 2012-2013 budget.

     

    Abdallah Murenzi expresses that 2012-2013 financial budget is divided into two; rural and urban development with an aim of improving social welfare of the residents.

     

    Murenzi explains that in rural areas, emphasis will be put in promoting agriculture, forestry, making feeder roads and extending electricity energy to different sectors of Nyanza district.

     

    With development budget, health centres will be built in Mukingo and Kibilizi sectors and two modern markets one in Rurangazi in Nyagisozi sector and another in Butansinda of Kigoma sector in Nyanza, narrates Murenzi.

     

    Murenzi revealed that Nyanza district will extend clean water to Amayaga where residents lack water especially in dry seasons. “I assure residents that solving water shortage problem is among our priorities,” he adds.

     

    The water projects will be implemented with the help of Nyanza district with their stake holders like EWSA and LV WATSAN project.
