Rwanda | Kamonyi: Kigali-Kamonyi road to get street lights

Rwanda | Kamonyi KigaliIn 2012/2013 financial budget, over Rwf260million has been set apart to install street lights on the road from Nyabarongo River to Ruyenzi centre and Runda sector premises.

Ruyenzi cell is located near Kigali city and in Southern province. It has modern buildings and many people shift from Kigali and reside in this place.

As a way of adding value to Ruyenzi cell, Kamonyi district administration has embarked on installing street lights from where Kigali street lights stop to Runda sector premises.

The process is expected to cost Rwf260million of the 2012/2013 financial budgets, Ruyenzi cell residents believe lights will tighen security since most of them travel home at night from work in Kigali city.

One resident said: “When a place develops, crimes increase. Criminals use darkness to rob or do other crimes to passengers at night.”

Ruyenzi has infrastructure which in addition to its geographic location has made it a town to be lived in.
