Rwanda | Nyamasheke: Residents asked to beware of violence in DRC
During the security meeting on July 11th 2012, it was resolved that residents be warned about crossing to Democratic Republic of Congo because of security problems that affect Rwandese.
Talking to the journalists, Jean Baptiste Habyarimana, Nyamasheke district mayor revealed the meeting decided on sensitizing residents to not pay attention to the romours about Rwandese-Congolese differences,
Mayor Habyarimana asserted that social life will continue between the residents of the two countries but Rwandans are asked to be careful as violence of Rwandese in Congo is becoming common.
Various meetings will hold in sectors of Nyamasheke district so that residents are informed of the meeting resolutions.
During the meeting, it was highlighted that rivers in this district make it hard to tell who enters and goes out of the country and the reason of the travel.
It was decided that a person responsible for residents entering and exiting the country should be chosen.
