Kagame : Kagame condemns U.S decision to cut off military Aid
President Paul Kagame has condemned the US decision to stop military aid to his government. The President said this, on Monday, when he inaugurated a Senior Staff course at the Rwanda Military Academy in Nyakinama.
The President said that Rwanda is increasingly faced with non-traditional security threats, which need the army forces to increase and diversify their defense capacities.
The US state department says the funding of $200,000 will be reallocated to other countries.
President Kagame says the decision to divert the aid allocated to the army not only affect Rwanda’s defense capabilities, but will as well damage the country’s image.
The non-traditional security threats include social, economic and political threats.
