Rwanda | Gicumbi: local leaders need to be attentive, attend to people’s problems- Kagame
Problems which people face in some parts of Rwanda could be solved through local leaders if they paid attention, attend to those tribulations brought to them and involve people concerned in resolving issues, according to the President Paul Kagame during his visit to Gicumbi District on 27 Aug2012.
One of the problems presented to the president include Pembe factory that processes wheat that never buys the produce of Gicumbi wheat farmers instead imports it with the excuse that their quality is not what they want and farmers who grow wheat use it for their personal consumption when in the first place they were sensitized to grow it for the sure market from the factory.
The Ministry of Agriculture told these farmers to be patient while they follow it up with the agreement they had made with this factory.
Another problem that was presented to the president is that of the republic is the case that has been going on of the executive secretary of Cyigese cell in Manyagiro sector who auction the properties of a local peasant to pay for the credit he owed but this local peasant did not give up and is always in the courts of law for more than 3 years now.
Another problem that needed solution from the president is that of the entrepreneur who did not pay the debt he owed the workers that built the Yaramba market in Nyankenke sector and the president told the district mayor Alexander Mvuyekure to solve this problem before the end of a week.
People were very happy with the president for he solved most of their problems and those that he could not solve immediately, he give a deadline to the leaders to solve them.
