    The army and the district mayor gave out advice to local leaders

     Local authorities have gone into agreement with Kibenga villagers on performance contracts in co-operation with the immediate levels (n’inzego zibakuriye); an act that was witnessed by the district mayor on 3rdJan.2012

    The executive secretary of Kibenga village in Mayage sector Umutesi Flore said, the performance contracts are special for reforming agriculture, protecting infrastructure, improving security and fighting against drug abuse.

    “We will advise people to participate in the government programs of land use consolidation, encourage them to participate in security matters  such as patrolling in the area at night (Irondo); to help discourage drug abuse like smoking of marijuana and alcoholic drinks  that causes lose of senses and insecurities among consumers.” She described.

    Umutesi Flore added that the protection of infrastructure is the sole responsibility of the people and that the government will sensitize people to know that infrastructure is their property and was built as a service to boost socio-economic issues for every individual’s profit.

    Rwagaju Louis, the Bugesera district Mayer said that People should have daily schedule to be able to follow community and governmental programs without interfering with personal matters. This act of signing performance contracts was in the Agenda of the month for good governance and solving people’s problems.the society was told to cautiously observed programs like community work [Umuganda] and meetings.
