Ruhango: New road in the pipeline
Ruhango district mayor Mbabazi François–Xavier has revealed plans of constructing a road linking Kinazi Cassava milling plant to the main road in order to ease transportation.
Since the factory started operating, people have been wondering where vehicles will be passing to reach the factory because the existing road seems to be inaccessible. However the mayor assured them of swift construction of the road. “This road is very important for both the government and farmers. The province has pledged to help us build this road as soon as possible.†Said Mbabazi
This cassava processing plant in Ruhango district is worth Rwf5billion and is expected to boost economic activity, once complete in March.
The plant will have the capacity to process 250 tonnes of raw cassava and produce 60 tonnes of cassava flour on a daily basis. The Cassava plant will also create 68 full time jobs and many other temporary ones hence increasing residents’ incomes and provide market for the local cassava farmers. Ends.
