    Rwanda | Kirehe: mobile telephones for community policing, security assurance

    People should give information to the police about illegal possession of arms in a way of maintaining their security said Sam Karemera the Assistant commissioner of Police in Kirehe district on 6th.Sept.2012.

    Sam Karemera told these to the local authorities while explaining the advantages and disadvantages of owning personal weapons and told them about dangers of abusing children as a crime that is affecting Rwandan society.

    These will be the fundamental lessons in the security week which started on the 30th.Aug.2012 that is about sensitizing people on illegal possession of arms, drugs, children sexual abuse, road accidents and many others.

    Karemera said that the Ministry of internal security is going to give about 70 mobile telephones to people in community policing and he gave out 8 as for the remaining will be given out in a very near future.

    Toll free numbers were given to people which they should call in case of any crime like 3512 for any kind of abuse, 3511 if abused by the police person, 113, 112 in case of emergencies. The meeting analyzed the district security in general, about classroom construction, and how far people have reached buying fertilizers and preparing for the next cultivation season.
