An agreement that was named Integrity Pact is signed between Transparency International Rwanda and the district it operates including Kayonza will bring honesty in tender awarding, according to Mayor John Mugabo.

Mayor Mugabo highlights that the purpose of the agreement is to promote transparency in the giving or awarding of tenders by contractors.

Though the district has been handling tender activities, Transparency Rwanda will be advising Kayonza district for the better execution of tender awarding activities, adds the mayor.

On whether there has been a problem for the tender committee to ask for help, Mayor Mugabo denotes: “we trust our committee and it has been working well but human beings make mistakes that outside people can recognize. We decided to work with TIR so that mistakes people can’t tell us are told to transparency Rwanda.”

Besides Transparency International Rwanda, there are other organizations that will take part in the agreement like Rwandese Association of Local Government Authorities (RALGA) and the district will not pay them because they will work as shareholders.
