    Rwanda | Rubavu: trained youth on democracy goes to schools

    While officially starting peace and democracy talks in Rubavu district on September 15th 2012, Ignacius Kabagambe Director General in charge of communication in Rwanda Governance Board has reminded the youth how democracy contributes to peace in the country.

    At Rwanda Tourism University College- Gisenyi branch, Kabagambe explained that talks are meant to teach youth democracy and promote it as they prepare for International peace day celebrations on September 21st 2012.

    Youth are considered tomorrow’s leaders and that’s why talks are organized to help them change their mindset on democracy and good governance towards development and peace promotion, he adds.

    Some participants said preparing a week of democracy talks helps them as youth with the vision to strive to keep the success that Rwanda has achieved.

    During the event, Honorable Deputy Yvonne Uwayisenga and Senator Apollinaire Mushinzimana explained to the students the democracy based political system Rwanda has towards the development of Rwandese society.

    Democracy week will comprise of peace discussions in different schools or Rwanda by RGB, both chambers of the parliament, Forum of political parties in Rwanda, National unity and reconciliation commission and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
