Rulindo: Burundians learn from Rwandans to develop their country

Rwanda | On November 7th 2012, a group of Burundians visited Rulindo district to learn from the leaders how to develop the country in all sectors.

On November 7th 2012, a group of Burundians visited Rulindo district to learn from the leaders how to develop the country in all sectors.

Burundians are carrying out various study tours to Rwanda because the country is ahead of them as far as development is concerned.

Papiar Ruhotora, who led the group said: “We are brothers and we hope that you will share with us the measures used to develop Rwanda. We have come to learn from you on how you extended good governance to the residents.”

There are many challenges in Burundi that block residents from accessing power and good governance.

Government programs are centralized and Burundi residents have no say in decision making, Ruhorotora elaborated.

Mayor of Rulindo district, Justus Kangwagye promised Burundians that they will help them in whatever they need to develop Burundi plus unfailing advice.

“We are pleased to see u come to learn from Rulindo local leaders, we are ready to share with you on what we have achieved so that you develop your country,” narrates Mayor Kangwagye.

He adds that hosting Burundi leaders portrays they are working hard, which should be an example to other districts.

The visitors were explained on decentralization, good governance and tender processes in Rwanda.

This happens after Burundi parliamentarians recently visited Rulindo district while on their tour in Rwanda.
