Civil registrars urged to be accurate

Following complaints of inaccuracy among civil registers in sectors around the country, civil registrars have been urged to be more careful while entering data because mistakes in this area do a lot of harm to Rwandans.

    Civil registrars

    Ildephonse Kabanda

The call was made my Ildephonse Kabanda an official in the Ministry of justice who called for more vigilance in this work to avoid irreparable errors. He was officiating at the swearing of civil registrars in the Rulindo district.

“There are times when a person wishes to remarry after divorcing with the first partner, but a look into the register finds nowhere it is indicated that there was a divorce or there are no signatures. This has deep legal implications,” said Kabanda.

He pointed out that there are times when people are registered as married, but when there are no signatures of the leaders.“

He reminded the practitioners that theirs is a respectable job which has to be valued at all times.
