    Karongi: More houses constructed for vulnerable residents

    More houses constructed for vulnerable residents

    Vulnerable residents are set to get houses in model villages after youth joined district administration to make 1, 602 bricks to build houses.

    Brick laying was done on December 28th 2013 during the monthly community work in Ruragwe cell, Nyagahinga village in Karongi district.

    The move is meant to provide shelter for the vulnerable residents in Rubengera sector in Karongi district.

    Jean Baptiste Rutebuka, Inspector of Police in Karongi district discussed on gender based violence issue with the residents after community work.

    He asked residents to avoid gender based violence by reporting those who practice it and drug users to strengthen the security.

    Out of 30 poor residents in Rubengera sector, over 20 people have already been given new houses in Nyagahinga village.
