In a function held at the district offices, beneficiaries appreciated the district authority for the facilitation saying that communication is the key towards combating corruption and injustice.

The Mayor of Gisagara district Leandre Karekezi explained that the bicycles are meant to simplify movement of the recipients as well as act as a kind of motivation.

“We want to facilitate their movement from one village to another. Riding on bikes will not only ease their task but also it will increase the number of villages they can cover.”

He urged members of the committees to intensify their mobilisation work in order to change residents’ attitudes towards gender, bribes and domestic violence.

Gisagara district was awarded a trophy after emerging the best in good governance, combating graft and injustice in 2011.
