A delegation of Congolese residents have visited Nyamasheke district so as to learn from the Rwandan experience and system of health services.
The South Kivu team was guided by the  vice Mayor in-charge of Social Affairs, Catherine Gatete who told the visitors that it is possible to implement similar  initiatives only when one is committed to his /her responsibilities.
The Congolese team received a detailed explanation on the rwanda’s services sector especially heath sector – which targets the direct beneficiaries and encourages the contribution of residents and collaboration of health workers
One of the Congolese delegates narrated the Congolesse experience saying that a health official in DR Congo rarely approach citizens for fear of being interrogated. He added that there some cases where patients fail to get services due to corruption in the Congo.
Tatienne Uzamukunda, an official of Performance Based Finance (PBF) in Rwanda advised the Congolese nationals to work as a team.  “You cannot achieve desired goals if you don’t cooperate with authorities. In order to achieve the community goals, the leaders should advocate for the needs of the people.†Uzamukunda said
Uzamukunda urged the delegation to work hand in hand with their leaders asking them to always present what they do and indicating their general contribution to the society
