Rwanda | GISAGARA: Civic education shapes our children-parents
Parents of the youth that completed secondary school in 2011 and attended civic education at Rugerero applaud Itorero for the good changes that are being evidenced through their children.
While most parents were worried about the behavior of their children during the holidays, their fears faded away when the children displayed the most disciplined character after civic education (Itorero).
Instead of going places like how most senior six leavers do, this youth concentrated on productive work and sensitizing their fellow youth to form cooperatives and become job creators.
One parent from Ndora sector thanked the government of Rwanda for introducing “Itorero ry’igihugu†because he has realized a lot of positive change in his two sons after undergoing civic education.
He adds that it was not easy for him to show his two boys what to do but after Itorero, his sons show him what they have to do at home and outside home. Their behaviour is pleasing and he wishes that the days youth spend in Itorero be a bit prolonged.
