Belgian Chief of Defence s Visit to Rwanda
On 7th February 2012, General Charles-Henri Delcour in companion with several high ranking commanders of Rwanda Defense Forces visited Camp Kigali, a memorial site where innocent UN peacekeepers of Belgian origin were shot dead by the notorious Interahamwe (perpetuators of the 1994 Genocide against Tustis).
General Delcour also toured several other places including Genocide Memorial Site at Gisozi, CSS (Credit and Savings Society- a military initiated bank) in Remera, and the military hospital at Kanombe.
The General’s tour is the second of its kind to Rwanda, where according to news from the Rwanda Ministry of Defence, “both tours are meant to continue strengthening the good relations and military partnership existing between the two countries’ Defence Forces.
While in Rwanda, among other activities on his agenda, General Delcour will hold talks with his Rwandan counterpart, Lt Gen Charles KAYONGA, the RDF Chief of Defence Staffâ€.
