Burera: Leaders urged to closely monitor contractors

    Dr. Vincent BIRUTA

The Minister of Education Dr. Vincent Biruta has urged local leaders  in Burera district to keep a close watch on contractors because they are the cause to delays in accomplishing performance contracts.

BIRUTA said this last week during a visit to Burera district. Biruta happens to be the custodian of the district.

During the visit, the situation of the performance contacts in the district was presented. He commended the district efforts in making sure that they deliver but emphasized the need to follow up contracted works especially constructions which seem to lag behind.

He advised them to always award tenders earlier so that they can have ample time to finish the projects on time.

“Contractors who breach the contracts should be answerable because we have laws that address such issues in place,” said the Minister.

The Minister concluded his tour by visiting schools under construction and some of the cooperatives in the district.
