Burera: Authority introduces Registration book for malnourished children
In a move to fight malnutrition in Burera district, the authorities have introduced a registration book where all malnourished children in the district will be registered.Â
Samuel Sembagare said the books will be put at all village levels whereby families with malnourished children will be registered for easy follow up.
He said it is a pity to find a well agricultural district in various crops like Burera to be still having problems of malnutrition.
The Rwandan government has been in the fight against malnutrition because it slows down development. Dr Agnes Binagwaho the minister for health in the previous meeting held with district leaders and healthy officials in the northern province of Rwanda said cleanliness is one of the essentials in the fight against malnutrition.
Dr Binagwaho Agnes asked leaders and healthy officials to encourage people on good hygiene and have a kitchen garden (Akarima kigikoni) as a way of fighting malnutrition.
She said that parents should be encouraged to serve their children with eggs and milk at least twice in a week if malnutrition is to be completely wiped out.
