Nyamagabe: Disabled to get representative
Representatives for People with disabilities have expressed their happiness over Nyamagabe district’s decision to choose a person in charge of the disabled problems.
This was resolved during the meeting that Emmanuel Ndayisaba, Executive secretary for people with disabilities at a national level had with district authorities and Disabled persons representatives in Nyamagabe district.
Ndayisaba says that visiting different places to hear disabled persons problems like they are doing now will help them come up with a perfect plan for solving their problems.
“We are looking for how these problems can be solved so that disabled people become a solution instead of a problem,†explains Ndayisaba
Emile Byiringiro, vice mayor for social affairs asserts that though Nyamagabe district has not done it to the desired level, it helps people with disabilities in attaining education and medical care.
On why the executive secretary for the disabled is needed, Byiringiro noted: “developmental projects will be put in place so that people with disabilities contribute to the development of the country.â€
It is planned that the national commission for disabled persons will be included in the budget at district level. This will help them to improve their capacity and to prepare income generating projects.
