Rwanda: Genocide survivors to get more help
More than 107 genocide survivors in different sectors of Gatsibo district who have been found to be poor and needy will receive more support especially during the commemoration month.
According to Esperance Uwimpuhwe the vice mayor for social affairs in this district, the victims of genocide done against Tutsi (1994); need a close attention.
As Esperance explained the commemoration period takes 100 days starting from April up to July and many actions characterize it.
Apart from burying the remains of 170 genocide victims in Kiziguro memorial site on the 11th.April.2012 in Gatsibo district, residents are reminded that there are plans to assist the poor genocide survivors.
There are 107 survivors in this district who need assistance and 91 with accommodation problems.
The district administration also has plans of giving cows to the poor, a project that was prepared by FARG where they plan to give out 25 cows.
Orphans who live alone with problems formed 16 families and the district residents are called upon to join these children and other survivors in the memorial period and help them from getting traumatized and to participate in all actions that are planned.
