    Karongi: District officials visit development projects in 3 sectors

    Officials in Kayonza district have visited development projects in various sectors making up the district. The move was aimed evaluating and accessing information on how the district is doing particularly in sectors of Bwishyura, Mubuga and Gitesi.

    The district mayor Kayumba Bernard qualified the action as paramount because it reminds leaders and the population of their responsibilities, a reason to why the district is at a satisfactory development stage National wide, the mayor emphasized. Residents in the visited sectors said it was such an encouragement to see their leaders coming to the field and meet people.

    The projects currently underway include the construction of two hotels at Karora and Mpembe respectively, and the construction of modern beach at Kivu Lake in Bwishyura sector.

    The District management is also envisaging the construction of a state-of-the-art museum which is expected to be the first of its kind throughout the African Continent. Kivu methane gas plant was also part of the visited projects.
