Nyamasheke: workers told to work hard for promoting social development

Administration of Nyamasheke District council has recently held a meeting with district workers to review working conditions of the district and look for ways to develop it more following the international labour renowned on 1st.May.2012.

In the meeting, the district mayor Jean Baptiste Habyarimana said that in general the way they interact in working in this district is very good and asked all workers to put much effort in doing well their work and develop the local people who are their responsibility to work for.

“We are responsible for our people’s lives and without a plan, we cannot take them anywhere.” He said. He thanked all workers for the parts they have played towards the development of the district and asked for their cooperation always.

He asked them not to work on the supervision from their bosses since they are not working for them but should always fight for what will promote people.

He also said that they should always have meetings together and to correct each other instead of talking about each other. They should also take time to correct their leader in case they do something wrong.

The theme for this Labour Day was “Promote Employment by Supporting Prospective Entrepreneurs” and it was celebrated by every institution holding discussions with their workers on their working conditions and to find ways to promote these institutions together.

On this day, there was a football match between the district workers and Bushenge hospital workers where Bushenge hospital workers won 2 goals to 1 of the district workers.
