Rwandan artists commemorate fallen peers
Rwandan-based Ingoma Music Association, which brings together local musicians yesterday held a ceremony to honor victims of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi, particularly local artists and musicians who lost their lives.
The event was held at the Amahoro National Stadium in collaboration with surviving family and friends of the fallen artists.
The head of Ingoma Music Association Jean Pierre Runyurana said that such events help remind current artists and musicians to compose songs and pieces aimed at fostering peace, harmony and unity.
Portraits and various works of the deceased were also on display at the event.
The event was organized by Ingoma Music Association with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
