    Kamonyi: Public decries mistreatment by security officers

    A cross section of the people in Runda Sector of Kamonyi district last week raised complaints that they face mistreatment at the hands of security officers who are supposed to be protecting them.

     

    According to Francois Niyonsenga, he is ever mistreated by the community night watchmen and yet he never does anything wrong.

     

    Mireille Umutoniwase a renowned sex worker says she is arrested whenever they see her even when she is not in any wrong.

     

    « I dont have security, because security officers intimidate me wherever they find me, »

     

    The offical in charge of social affairs in kamonyi district Mariya Goretti Murekatete said that she did not have any information on the occurrence of such violence and promised to get to the bottom of the matter.

     

    Kamonyi district has just concluded the good governance month which was graced by a football match between Runda and Gacurabwenge sectors.
