    Kamonyi: Women at different levels asked to participate in National Development

    Representatives of Secretary General of FPR Inkotanyi (Rwanda Patriotic Front)request women that represent women in different sectors to put effort in the development campaign so that the country’s’ development starts in resident’s homes.

    On 3rd December 2011, a meeting for different FPR Women Associations at District level, sector level and women representatives from different sections was held at FPR Offices in Gicurabwenge sector, Kamonyi district.

     

    The purpose of the meeting was to promote women Corporation towards the development of the Nation.

    Representatives of Secretary General of FPR (Rwanda Patriotic Front); Mukarugema Alphonsine, Deputy Member of Parliament and Deputy Ntabana Yves talked about the the contribution of a woman in implementation of the Associations’ manifesto, measures that can be taken to help women fight poverty and being creative.

    Deputy Mukarugema Alphonsine told participants to sensitize local leadership to participate in development plans so that the Country development starts in families.

    “A woman is the heart of the home” the representatives add on. They went on that women should create income generating jobs, working together and advising each other

    On the measures that can be taken to fight poverty among women, the participants said that confidence, advising each other, working together and sensitizing women on money saving culture will help them achieve the desired goals.

    The obstacles of women development that were put across in this meeting by the participants include; ignorance, fear and violation of women rights.

    Mugirasoni Marie Chantal, Leaders Committee Secretary of FPR Inkotanyi in Kamonyi district says that this meeting is organized at a national level to remind women federations their responsibilities in national development.
