Cabinet approved modification of PS Imberakuri party structures
Cabinet has approved the modification of all the legal documents of PS Imberakuri party to reflect the current structures which changed in March 2010.
PS Imberakuri was founded by Bernard Ntaganda in 2009 along with other members. But in March 2010, the party’s Congress ruled to replace Ntaganda after he was accused of undermining party structures.
However, when he lost the leadership of the party, Ntaganda formed a splinter faction. He is now in prison after he found guilty in February 2011 of various charges including holding illegal gatherings and promoting divisionism. He is serving a four-year sentence.
The recognised PS Imberakuri is headed by Christine Mukabunani. But because Ntaganda was the one whose name was in the ministry of local government (MINALOC) and the forum for political parties’ documents, it made him the legal representative.
To conform to the current structures, MINALOC had to review all the legal instruments associated to Bernard Ntaganda. In other words, cabinet was simply approving what had been prepared by MINALOC.
