PS Imberakuri party warms up for parliamentary seats

PS Imberakuri party warms up for parliamentary seats

After spending years struggling with internal party politics and wrangles, PS Imberakuri is now setting it eyes on snatching some legislative seats ahead of the Parliamentary elections this September.

Official political party campaigns for the next parliament kicked of this August 26, and the campaigns are expected to run for three weeks ending on September 15 while elections will be held from Sept 16-18.

PS Imberakuri political party chairperson, Christine Mukabunani says that the party has submitted 45 candidates and it is ready to secure the required 5 per cent of the national vote to have its representative in the chambers of parliament.

On the PS Imberakuri house agenda, Mukabunani says that their manifesto will focus on reforms in the areas of education, health and agriculture and issue in general.

Mukabunani underscored that the party will focus on education-where there is need to have free education, improving the school curricula to suit the education needs and skills development; and also improving the health sector.

Mukabunani noted that the party is fully prepared to race in the campaign, but in order to succeed in vote soliciting rallies, the party will also need support from local administrative officials to avoid any mishaps in the exercises.

Other parties that launched their campaigns include, the RPF-led coalition which include Ideal Democratic Party (PDI), Parti Socialiste Rwandais (PSR), Parti du Progrès et la Concorde (PPC) and Centrist Democratic Party (PDC), and Liberal Party (PL).Tags for promotion: Rwanda-Elections-Political Parties-Parliament- PS-Imberakuri-Campaigns-Agenda-Launch
