    Ngororero: One cup of milk per a child program launched.


    Recently, Prime Minister Pierre Damien HABUMUREMYI launched one cup of milk program in Ngororero district. The program is the  ever first of its kind and it aims at eradicating malnutrition among children.

    According to the arrangement, milk will be provided in primary schools on routine.

    “We start with St Kizito Primary school today but the milk distribution will get to the rest of the schools daily,” said Clothilde Nyiraneza, Vice Mayor, Social Affairs.

    “Milk is very essential in child nutrition. It contains iron, calcium, vitamin A, milk is generally whole food that every child should get access to,” said Andrew Kagabo, part of the team providing the milk daily.

    One cup of milk for per a child comes after the government has invested in other related programs to improve livelihoods. Such projects include one cow per family.
