“Do not depend on the false romour during this time of war in Congo, after all; Rwanda is safe” Aime Bosenibamwe; governor of Northern Province has told Gicumbi district residents.

Governor Bosenibamwe said this on January 17th 2013 during the meeting with residents of Bwisige sector in Gicumbi district.

The governor warned the residents not to listen to people who bring false romour in the country to destroy the peace and stumble on the residents’ development.

The first security is that of a heart because when one is not secure, he or she cannot work and develop and others sell their belongings and wait for the worst after hearing such romours.

“That’s why we urge residents to avoid romours because they stop them from embracing government programs,” says the governor.

Chief of Defense in Burera, Rulindo and Gicumbi districts that make Northern Province, Col Jean Damascene Sekamana asked the residents to keep security paying no attention to discouraging romours.

He asked them to be aware and avoid wrong information that bad people might pass on to people at gathering like schools, churches, markets and other public places

Domina Mukangenzi, a participant highlights that she will no longer give time to the romours but she will follow the advice leaders gave residents in the meeting.
