    Rwandan Peace Keepers in Central Africa celebrate Kwibohora20

    Rwandan peacekeepers in Central Africa dance during celebrations to mark Kwibohora20

     The Rwanda Mechanised Infantry Battalion (RwaMechBatt1)serving under the African led International Mission Support to Central African Republic (MISCA), celebrated the 20th Liberation Anniversary under the theme “Together we prosper”.

    On Liberation Day, the President of the Central African Republic (CAR), H.E Catherine Samba Panza sent a congratulatory message to Rwanda Peacekeepers in MISCA for their endeavour to bring peace in CAR.

    “To you Rwandan Contingent, I sincerely extend congratulations on your Liberation Day, we also recognise your endless efforts and will to bring peace to our Country”.

    In a colourful ceremony that took place on 4th July 2014 at Rwandan Contingent Headquarters, SOCATI, in Bangui, the Rwandan Peacekeepers were joined by MISCA Force Commander Brig Gen Martin Tumenta Chomu, Honorable Mme Ngougmba, MISCA Officials, Local leaders and Rwandan Community living in the Central African Republic.

    During the celebration, the MISCA Force Commander commended the exemplary service of Rwandan Contingent in MISCA in carrying their duty and mandate of restoring peace in CAR.

    Rwanda’s commitment to promoting ICT

    Col Evariste Murenzi, Chief of Staff in MISCA, on behalf of the Rwandan Contingent thanked each and every one who joined Rwanda Peacekeepers to commemorate the National Liberation Day.

    He explained Rwanda’s liberation journey and achievements. “Self-reliance and dignity are the source of development”, he said before citing an example of four bridges constructed by Rwanda Peacekeepers in Bangui, 5th Arrondissement as one way to find home grown solution to prevailing situation.
