    Rwanda : EALA HOUSE NOMINATES SIX STANDING COMMITTEES

     Fresh from the swearing- in- ceremony recently, EALA has  resumed its Sitting – by appointing Members of the House Business Committee (HBC) and that of six other Standing Committees; with effect from 06June 2012

    The Members elected to serve on the HBC are Hon. Jeremie Ngendakumana, Hon. Hafsa Mossi, Hon. Adam Kimbisa, Hon. Shy- Rose Bhanji, Hon. Christophe Bazivamo, Hon. Patricia Hajabakiga, Hon. Nusura Tiperu, Hon. Mike Kennedy Sebalu, Hon. Abubakar Ogle and Hon. Agnes Mumbi Nga’ru.  The Chairperson, Council of Ministers, Hon Musa Sirma is also a Member of the Committee. The Committee is chaired by Rt.Hon Margaret Nantongo Zziwa EALA Speaker.

    A second motion on the floor moved by Hon Mike Sebalu appointing Members to six other Standing Committees also received overwhelming approval from Members.

    The Committee on Accounts has Hon. Jeremie Ngendakumana, Hon. Yves Nsabimana, Hon. Emannuel Nengo, Hon. Jacqueline Muhongayire, Hon. Celestin Pierre Rwigema, Hon. Straton Ndikuryayo, Hon. Bernard Mulengani, Hon. Sarah Nakawuki, Hon. Chris Opoka-Okumu, Hon Dr. Nderakindo Perpetua Kessy, Hon. Abdullah Mwinyi, Hon. Adam Omar Kimbisa, Hon. Agnes Mumbi Ng’aru, Hon. Ole Saoli Nkanae and Hon. Abubakar Ogle

    The Committee on Legal, Rules and Privileges on its part has Hon. Frederic Ngenzebuhoro, Hon. Jeremie Ngendakumana, Hon. Hafsa Mossi, Hon. Valerie Nyirahabineza, Hon. Abdul Karim Harelimana, Hon. Christophe Bazivamo, Hon. Fred Mbidde Mukasa, Hon. Dan Kidega, Hon. Dora Byamukama, Hon. Twaha Issa Taslima, Hon. Abdullah Mwinyi, Hon. Maryam Ussi Yahya, Hon. Judith Pareno, Hon. Joseph Kiangoi Ombasa and Hon. Peter Mutuku Mathuki.

    The Committee on Agriculture, Tourism and Natural Resources is constituted of Hon. Isabelle Ndahayo, Hon. Dr. Martin Nduwimana, Hon. Leonce Ndarubagiye, Hon. Christophe Bazivamo, Hon. Patricia Hajabakiga, Hon. Dr. Odette Nyiramilimo, Hon. Chris Opoka-Okumu and Hon Dan. Kidega.  Others are Hon. Mike Sebalu, Hon. Musomi Bernard Murunya, Hon. Charles Makongoro Nyerere, Hon. Angela Charles Kizigha, Hon. Judith Pareno, Hon. Saoli Ole Nkanae and Hon. Agnes Mumbi Ng’aru.

    EALA’s Committee on Regional Affairs and Conflict Resolution shall have Hon. Leone Ndarubagiye, Hon. Emmauel Nengo, Hon. Isabelle Ndahayo, Hon. Abdul Karim Harelimana, Hon. Jacqueline Muhongayire, Hon. Celestin Pierre Rwigema, Hon. Chris Opoka-Okumu, Hon. Fred Mbidde Mukasa, Hon. Mike Sebalu, Hon. Twaha Issa Taslima, Hon. Charles Makongoro Nyerere, Hon. Musomi Bernard Murunya, Hon. Abubakar Zein Abubakar, Hon. Saoli Ole Nkanae and Hon. Sarah Bonaya. 

    The Members elected to the Committee on General Purpose are Hon. Dr. James Ndahiro, Hon. Dr. Odette Nyiramilimo, Hon. Valerie Nyirahabineza, Hon. Dr. Martin Nduwimana, Hon. Hafsa Mossi, Hon. Emerence Bucumi, Hon. Susan Nakawuki, Hon. Nusura Tiperu, Hon. Bernard Mulengani, Hon. Dr. Nderankindo Perpertua Kessy, Hon. Maryam Yahya Ussi, Hon. Shy-Rose Sadruddin Bhanji, Hon. Nancy Abisai, Hon. Abubakar Zein Abubakar, Hon. Sarah Bonaya 

    The Committee on Communications, Trade and Investment (CTI) has Hon. Yves Nsabimana, Hon. Emerence Bucumi, Hon. Frederic Ngenzebuhoro, Hon. Dr. James Ndahiro, Hon. Patricia Hajabakiga, Hon. Straton Ndikuryayo, Hon. Dan Kidega and Hon. Dora Byamukama. Others are Hon. Nusura Tiperu, Hon. Shy-Rose Sadruddin Bhanji, Hon. Adam Omar Kimbisa, Hon. Angela Charles Kizigha, Hon. Peter Mutuku Mathuki, Hon. Joseph Kiangoi Ombasa and Hon. Nancy Abisai.

    The House then adjourned sine die (indefinitely).  Tomorrow, Members shall go through a two day Induction program in Arusha aimed at bringing them to speed with parliamentary procedures as well as enhancing their understanding of EALA.
